Poor Hygiene Standards Found At Cambridgeshire TakeawayMarch 9, 2014
Poor cleaning and disinfection standards have been found at a Cambridgeshire takeaway. Staff were seen placing a dirty mop bucket on a draining board. Without cleaning and disinfecting the surface, this same area was later used for preparing food. There were also issues around blocked drains and flies.
At Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on 19 February 2014, John Wong, of St Ives Chinese and Thai Takeaway on the Broadway, pleaded guilty to eight food hygiene offences. He was fined £2,400 and ordered to pay £600 costs and a victim surcharge of £120.
