East Sussex Seafront Restaurant’s Food Hygiene Rating FallsApril 26, 2014
A Worthing seafront restaurant which had previously scored well in a food hygiene inspection has seen its rating fall following a new inspection.
The Denton Lounge, run by Worthing Theatres and Worthing Borough Council, received the low mark of ‘one’ after inspectors visited the premises in February 2014. Under The Food Standards Agency scheme food premises are given a score of 0 – 5, with zero meaning that urgent improvement is necessary.
The restaurant’s managers said at the time of the inspection the food outlet was in the final phase of decorating and improvement works. The managers also said there had been staffing restructures.
Inspections capture a specific point of time and food outlets can improve their food hygiene ratings following the inspection.
